Atlayo Children's Privacy Protection Statement

Atlayo cares about the safety of young people. This Statement supplements our Privacy Policy and explains how we treat personal data of users under 18, with specific rules for children under 16 in the EU/EEA under GDPR Article 8.

1. Age requirements

1.1 EU/EEA: You must be at least 16 to register independently. Users aged 13–15 may use Atlayo only with verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian. Atlayo is not intended for children under 13.

1.2 Other regions: Where local law sets a different digital-consent age, that age applies.

2. Parental consent

When consent is required, we may ask the parent or guardian to:

• Confirm their relationship to the child.
• Verify identity via email, payment-card micro-charge, or other reasonable method.
• Review and accept this Statement and the Privacy Policy on the child’s behalf.

Parents may withdraw consent and request deletion at privacy@atlayo.com.

3. Default protections for minors

For accounts identified as belonging to minors, we apply privacy-by-default settings, including:

• Stricter discoverability — not listed in “People Nearby” or public search by default.
• Restricted contact from unknown users unless approved.
• Location sharing off by default; explicit reminder when enabling.
• No personalised marketing.
• Saved payment cards disabled for minors until age and consent requirements are met.
• Heightened moderation for reported interactions involving minors.

4. Data we collect from minors

We collect only what is necessary for the Service, such as:

• Account identifiers, display name, and security credentials.
• Communications the minor chooses to send (subject to the same retention rules as adults).
• Guardian contact details and consent records.

We do not condition basic chat features on consent to unnecessary profiling.

5. Parental rights

Parents and guardians may:

• Review personal data we hold about their child.
• Request correction or deletion (subject to legal exceptions).
• Refuse further collection or use and request account closure.
• Contact us with concerns at privacy@atlayo.com.

6. Education and safety

We provide in-app safety tips about strangers, sharing location, and reporting abuse. We cooperate with EU hotlines and authorities regarding child safety reports as required by law.
